Emery Smith. In the East Berlin society my main character, Gerta, is treated as a someone who has reason to be watched. Gerta's father was someone who opposed communism and because of this, his family is under surveillance. In addition to this, because Gerta's brother, Fritz, and her openly talked about their dislike of the wall, their files have been accumulating as possible traitors. As a result of the threats from the Stazi, the military police, Gerta has persevered through grasping as the fleeting hope that she will escape to the West with her Mama and Fritz. In my opinion, Gerta's perseverance also relies on her father and other brother. If it weren't for her father, she wouldn't have started the tunnel or planned their escape to the West.
Talon Alexander. Just like your main character my main character is watched by his society. However the reason he is being watched is because he is Jewish. Also his whole family needs to be careful because of their ties with the communist party. If they are not careful then the Gestapo will come and take them away. Just like your main character.
Emery Smith. I can tell that your main character is using boxing as their way to get through their life. They don't live their life in a traditional sense, but he isn't sorry for it, which I think is a very admirable way to persevere.
Niyani Mosley. In my books society my main character, Vidya, is treated like she's nothing. My book takes place is India during WWII and British oppression was still present. Vidya faces racism and unfair treatment even from her own family due to their culture's customs. Vidya finds the customs unfair to the women, as mentioned when the women always get everything after the men and do most of the work around the house. Women are also supposed to be married off so most find it unesscessary to be scholars and be happy to be a housewife. However, Vidya manages to perservere by getting permission to read in the library and even escape her marriage by getting permission for college. By having such permissions, Vidya will be able to pursue her goals instead of following her society's rules.
Camilo I think that it is amazing that Vidya has been able follow her dreams even after what is happening. I also think that all people should be able to do what they please.
Andreas. In the book Amal Unbound the society isn't treating her the best. She get's in lost of trouble when she disobey's her town's mayor. When she get's in trouble her response that she will make through the rough time and get back on her feet. Which personally I think is a great response to life.
Camilo. In my book " The Berlin Boxing Club" Karl is a Jewish boy and this is the time of Hitler and Nazis. In that time they did not accept Jews so Karl had to hid himself from people who knew and he had to hid the fact that he was Jewish. Karl gets beat up, his head gets put in a toilet, and other bad things happen to Karl, but he learns to box which helps him fight back and stand up for himself. Also that society is getting rid of Jews all over the place including Karl,so Karl has been expelled, and Karl has to find a school that accepts Jews.
our characters both found an outlet to help distract them from their conflicts. my character struggles with reading and writing, so she draws to be able to express herself without writing.
Malena. Society treats my character, Delphine, as nothing but a annoyance. Their mother doesn't want them there and wants her peace and quiet back, but Delphine gets her thoughts and sisters thoughts to her. Her little sister, Fern, gets made fun of because she carries around a doll named Miss Patty Cake. This was when the Black Panthers were around and using violence to protest against how the way blacks were being treated. Her other sister that's only a few years older then Fern, Vonetta, sides with Fern's bullies and goes and be mean to Fern. Delphine holds the siblings together and stops them from fighting, so she tries and holds them together.
The person in my book is viewed as being good only for being goalie on the soccer team. He has huge glasses that make his eyes big and he isn't popular or especially smart. He is ignored at school, but not on the field. The character doesn't really care because he has one good friend and soccer means everything to him, so as long as he's playing soccer, he's happy.
I see that your character may look like a nerd (not being mean) and that is the reason he doesn't have many friends but he has found two friends, his good friend and soccer. He doesn't stand out in school much, but at soccer he is what everyone's eyes are drawn to.
Terrence Murrill - The Character in my book is respected for his great talent. Opposing coaches and players despise him, though. That is because he beats their teams with his exceptional talent.
In my book, " The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" There is a boy named William. His father is a farmer, and his mom does chores in the house. He has 5 other sisters that help out his mom so he helps out his dad. In the village he lives in, the society treats him like he is a small scientist or like any other boy. William fixes radios with a friend of his and people are calling him a small scientist because nobody else can really fix them in the village. But other than him fixing radios, he is treated like any other boy working in the fields with his father to help feed his family. William doesn't really mind what other people think of him, he just is trying to help his family live in this small village.
people bully my main character because she creates crazy distractions to get sent to the office so she doesn't have to write because she can't write. my character perseveres through the treatment by surrounding herself with friends and telling herself the bullies are wrong.
Kylie Shaw- My main character faces many challenges with being treate badly. People laugh at her and make fun of her. In my book, my main character struggles with cerebral palsy and she cannot cntrol her movements. When people make fun of her she doesn't let it get to her head. She just keeps going and doesn't look back.
Rawan Alsaeedy- My main character also faced many challenges in the story like other peers making fun of her and calling her names. But my character has dylexia which was the problem in this story.
