What conflicts are your characters experiencing? How are the characters working their way through these problems? In other words, how are they trying to resolve the problem?
Kyie Shaw- In my book, (out of my mind), my main character struggles with not being able to talk or move much because of her cerebral palsy. That is her main onflict. In the book, her and her aide looked up a device to help my main character, Melody, talk. It's called a Medi-Talker. She can type in words and it will say it for her. The Medi-Talker enabled her to say whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted. That solved her conflict of not being able to speak.
Emery Smith. I could only imagine the struggle that your character faces. However, from what you have shared, I can tell that she has worked through a lot of mental and physical struggles. The way she has handled them is truly inspiring.
Talon Alexander. My character doesn't have any disabilities however the society doesn't understand him, his family and thousands like him. Instead of treating him and his family normally they treat them like trash because they are Jewish in a Nazi Germany.
Andreas.I like Talon's response Because it's a very strong and powerful response. This response let's people know the struggle his main character went through.
jeb sullivan. Your character and my character are similar because they both struggle with something they cant change. my character struggles with dyslexia and her teacher helps her cope. this is similar to how your characters caregiver helps her adapt to her cerebral palsy by giving her the Medi-talker.
Emery Smith. The conflicts that my characters are experiencing are separation from their family, being forced into the communist society, the knowledge that because of their police they won't live to their full potential, being marked as traitors, and much more. For the first four years, the characters lived under these conditions because they had no other hope. However, now they are resolving their problems by planning to escape. Gerta, Fritz, and Mama have set a plan and dug their tunnel. The three of them are holding onto their newly-found hope because they do not know for sure that their plan will work.
I completely agree. I believe both of our main character's are going through struggles that they weren't sure how to solve. When they thought they found a way to solve them, they knew it was going to take time and effort for their solutions to work.
Talon Alexander. My characters are facing the some of the same things. The Jewish characters are being marked as trash and my main characters family has to worry about the Gestapo kicking them out of their only place of shelter. I want to know more about what your characters are going through as well.
Niyani Mosley. My character is facing a similar problems, she was forced from her home because of a mistake she made messing with the British, who oppress her society. Her family is mainly against her goals of going to college and being a doctor, but she's been perservering by speaking her mind and she's finally convinced her family to allow her to go.
Talon Alexander. My main character form (The Berlin Boxing Club) Karl Stern is facing the affects of being a Jewish in a Nazi controlled Germany before WWII. His first conflict comes from the interaction between him and a Hitler youth group called the Wolf pack. They expose him for being Jewish and then Karl gets beat up pretty badly. Then he gets kicked out of school for being Jewish. His family is in financial ruin due to not selling enough art because of Hitlers terrible art taste causing certain painting to be off limits. Then He got kicked out of his apartment due to a lie a man name Kolpek told. Our character does have an outlet for all this pent up anger which is boxing. He use this pent up anger to make his punches more powerful and he focuses on the fight instead of society which is the only time he get away from society. However he needs to watch out at his boxing club because all of the members are grown men and some may even be Nazi supporters.
Talon and Kylie, just like your characters, my character also has a way to let out his anger. He is angry that his dad seems to only care about how great his brother is, and his best friend just got mad and is not speaking to him. He lets out his anger by playing soccer and running around the neighborhood.
Your and my character's both have ways to express themselves. Karl found boxing which helped him resolve his struggles. While Melody can express herself with the Medi-Talker. (Which allowes her to talk. She can't talk due to her cerebral palsy.) Our character's both have struggles that they have learned to overcome by finding thier own solutions.
Rawan Alsaeedy. The conflict my character (Ally Nickerson) faces in the story is having dyslexia ,so she can barely read in school. She and her teacher are staying after school so he can help her get to where the class is at in school. Although she has dyslexia, she is remarkable at art and riddles. Her mind is amazing at solving creatively.
William. The year is 1968 .My character Holling goes through struggles at school with his teacher. He stays after school on Wednesday with his teacher who he strongly believes hates his guts. His dad is working for a contract with Ms. Baker's relatives. Holling has to keep everything just swell with everything going on. (The Vietnam War and other life issues)
William. What my character does to resolve the problems is just do what is asked of him so he can get by. His teacher Ms.Baker tell him to do something he does it even though he may not want to he does it. He just need to get along with Ms.Baker until his dad gets the contract.
Terrence Murrill - So your character is forced to go along with every thing adults say to get by in life? If so, my character is sorta alike to yours because he listens to adult words because he has nothing to say himself.
jeb sullivan. the conflict my character is facing in the story is dyslexia. my character, Ally Nickerson struggles to read in school, so she makes distractions and gets sent to the office when she has to write. when she gets a new teacher, though, she stays after school and he helps her learn to cope with dyslexia.
Terrence Murrill - My Character Michael Arroyo is a foreign. He and his family moved to the U.S for opportunities to live better. Michael's mom had already died before the move, and his father died because of a heart attack. Michael's brother Carlos illegally worked because of it. Michael was exceptional at baseball. His skill was unlike any other 12 year old. Since he kept winning his team games, questions arose on if he was actually 12 years old. With his parents dead, and his relatives in Havana unable to be contacted, the coaches against Michael asked to see his birth certificate. The thing was that Michael didn't have one. He battles these problems to be able to accomplish him dream, winning the championship live on ESPN.
The conflict my character (Paul) is facing, is that he is kind of scared of his brother because his brother (Erik) seems heartless and only cares about being the best football player ever. Paul is also struggling with his friend (Joey) being mad at him because he convinced Joey to come the new school that he had transferred to. Joey got teased at that school and so Joey was mad at Paul for convincing him to go to Paul's school. Paul gets through it by playing soccer (which is his favorite thing to do) and by just avoiding his brother.
Alyssa The conflict my character struggles with is divorced parents. Nick hall loves his mom but she wants to train horses so she gets a divorce. Nick doesn"t take it well at first and becomes sick. The way Nick gets through his problems is soccer. He plays soccer against his best friend. When he realizes that his mom and dad are different he accepts the divorce. He just plays soccer and he still gets to see his mom every weekend. He really did have to push himself to accept the divorce. He did see that his mom and dad still loved each other, they just wanted different things.Nick is now just hanging out with his friends and playing soccer.
